2016 Mayor's Awards for the Arts Nominations being accepted

Juneau – Juneau Arts & Humanities Council calls for nominations for the Mayor’s Awards for the Arts

Juneau Arts & Humanities Council invites nominations for the 2016 Mayor’s Awards for the Arts.

Awards will be presented in these categories:

  • Volunteer For the Arts: Recognizes individuals whose support for the arts through significant contributions of time, services, or financial support has made a significant impact on our community.
  • Business Leadership in the Arts: Recognizes businesses (profit or nonprofit) or individual business leaders whose efforts enhance and sustain the arts in Juneau, and set them apart as model corporate citizens.
  • Artist: Honors individuals for their creative contributions to the community.
  • Innovative Application of the Arts: Recognizes individuals, businesses or programs whose work uses the arts in new and inspirational ways to improve our community.
  • Arts in Education: Recognized individuals, programs, or businesses whose efforts advance the arts in education.
  • Arts Organization: Recognizes a local arts and culture organization for significant contributions that help to make Juneau the vibrant and creative community it is.
  • Lifetime Achievement: Recognizes individuals whose long-standing commitment and dedication in the community has been outstanding. Note that this award may not be awarded each year

Nominations are being accepted through July 15. Nomination forms are available at the Council offices or on-line. Winners of the awards will be announced in August, and the awards presented by Mayor Koelsch on August 19, 2016 at the JACC, at the annual membership and season kick-off celebration.
