Caitlin Warbelow hails from a family of entrepreneurs and bush pilots in Alaska and for the last seven years served as the violinist/fiddler in the original Broadway cast of the Tony Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated musical, Come From Away. Caitlin holds degrees from Columbia University (M.S., Urban Planning) and Boston University (B.A., Anthropology and B.Mus., Violin Performance), and, oddly, once turned down a PhD in Epidemiology at NYU. Though she’s made her career as a musician, that was a bit of a fluke. She originally planned to be a scientist, and has never quite managed to retrain her brain to be anything else.

Why is NASA looking at nuclear powered rockets for use with human Mars missions?
Nuclear powered rockets can mean shorter travel times, less risk for astronauts and mission, and less supplies. In 2023, NASA looked at two types of nuclear powered rockets. One uses nuclear power to generate propulsion more like a traditional rocket. The other generates propulsion via electric energy, a more modern technique. How do they work and how would they get us to Mars?

ANS Camp 70 presents this new powerful documentary about Mary Ellen Johnson Davis, who has been missing since the eve of Thanksgiving 2020 from the Tulalip Reservation. She is only one of hundreds of Native American women who continue to go missing in the U.S. As director Sabrina Van Tassel investigates Mary Ellen’s case, dozens of Native women speak up about the violence suffered and observed by them. From Deborah Parker, activist and indigenous leader, to Deb Haaland, US Secretary of the Interior, to many of Mary Ellen’s friends and family, the film threads a haunting but important report about these underlooked cases and the urgency for attention and action in these investigations.

Q&A with author Bailey Williams followed by a book signing.
A powerful coming-of-age memoir of one girl’s struggle, adrift in warrior culture At eighteen, Bailey Williams bolted from her strict Mormon upbringing to a Marine recruiting office to enlist as a 2600—a military linguist. Pushed to the brink by a leadership and a culture that demands women shrink themselves, she finally looked to the women around her and began to wonder what else she was losing. Quietly but inexorably, the power of other women’s stories whispered an alternative path to what it means to be a woman, and a warrior. Hollow is a story for anyone whose identity has been prescribed to them—and has dared question if there is another way to live.
