A Bit About the Logo
We are excited to officially roll out the new logo for the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council, designed by Joyce Leong of Blue Morpho Design!
When we started this process, we wondered how one logo could possibly represent everything JAHC supports: visual art, music, theater, dance, literature, arts education, community events, and so much more.
Ultimately, we realized it doesn’t have to.
JAHC isn’t the art. We support the art.
Joyce’s design gives JAHC a strong, recognizable identity without trying to define what art should look like. The interconnected JAHC letterforms represent connections between cultures, ideas, and artistic expression, while the extended elements of the J and C suggest a path or artistic journey.
One of the things we love most about the design is its flexibility. The elements can be separated, rearranged, and adapted across everything we do, allowing JAHC to have a recognizable identity while keeping the focus where it belongs: on the artists, organizations, programs, and creative work we are here to support.
Thank you to every artist who submitted a design, everyone who participated in the community voting process, and our staff and Board for helping us through the selection.
And a huge congratulations and thank you to Joyce Leong of Blue Morpho Design for creating a visual identity we’re excited to carry forward.
You’ll start seeing our new look roll out across JAHC in the coming weeks!
A Bit About the Artist
Joyce Leong is a multidisciplinary creative professional whose experience has spanned the areas of publishing, advertising agencies, creative firms, in-house ad departments, corporate communications and running her own design studio.
Her creative journey began as a third grader when she constructed a Santa ornament out of an old egg carton—a piece that still hangs on her tree every year. Since then, she's been fortunate to help shape and influence the branding landscapes of several major industries.
A believer of simplicity and breathing space, she strives for a visual terrain that embraces a clean and uncluttered aesthetic.
