Call for Entries – Wearable Art 2018: MOLTEN

The Juneau Arts & Humanities Council invites artists to create a piece of wearable art for the 2018 Wearable Arts Extravaganza: MOLTEN. Deadline for artist registration is December 1, 2017.

To enter Wearable Art 2018, artists need to visit www.jahc.org/wearable-art-2018-molten and:
1. Download, read, and sign the required documents in the Artist & Model Info Packet
2. Pay the $40 registration fee and complete the updated registration form. A link to the off-site form & fee powered through Submittable.com is on the Wearable Art webpage.

Note that all artists who are registered before November 16 are invited to an early seat purchase event on November 17. This event is invitation only for NewJACC Groundbreakers and fully registered artists. For more information on becoming a NewJACC Groundbreaker, please visit www.newjacc.org. Tickets for current JAHC members will go on sale December 1, 2017, and open up to the General Public on January 15, 2018.

Wearable Art: MOLTEN takes place on February 17th and 18th, 2018 at Centennial Hall. Margeaux Ljungberg returns as Wearable Art 2018 Director, and Akiko Nishijima-Rotch as Wearable Art 2018 Set Designer. The runway set up will be similar to last year – a zig zag that runs the length of Centennial Hall, with slight modifications as needed per set requirements. A panel of judges will jury the show for the artists who choose to participate. Winners of the juried show will be awarded cash prizes. All entries will continue to be judged by popular vote both performance nights, as in previous years.

Proceeds from Saturday’s show help support the Juneau Arts & Culture Center improvements, and proceeds from Sunday’s show help fund the JAHC’s Scholarship program. The event includes a different Silent Auction for each performance.
