Juneau Community Foundation’s Individual Artist Award Application Period is Now Open

Through its Arts Vibrancy Endowment, the Juneau Community Foundation strives to help create and maintain dynamic and accessible arts and culture opportunities for years to come. The Individual Artist Award, funded by this endowment, enables local Juneau-based artists the opportunity to develop their art and share it with the community. The 2023 application period is now open.

We are pleased to announce the total funds available for the 2023 Individual Artist Award is $25,000. Awards will be offered as follows: 2- $2,500 awards, 2- $5,000 awards, and 1- $10,000 award. All art forms and idioms including, but not limited to, visual arts, dance, music, fabric arts, photography, theater, and literary arts are eligible for funding from the Arts Vibrancy Endowment.

“Keeping our unique arts community colorful and vibrant is a goal of the Arts Vibrancy Endowment. To accomplish this, we provide direct grants to local artists” says Sandro Lane, Chair of the Arts Vibrancy Endowment Selection Committee. He added “The money for these grants comes from the earnings of Juneau Arts Vibrancy Endowment. The total annual award for 2023 is our highest yet, hitting $25,000, up from $10,000 our first year. It’s so great to see donations helping to grow this fund. This growth enables us to support more and more local artists! The more people know about the artists these awards support, the more people in our community contribute. Investing in this endowment will support local arts and artists long after we are gone!”
